Wacky Weather

On March 26, we set a high temperature record. It was 81 degrees that day. For the past week, the weather has been downright cold. They declared ice out on the lake April 3rd, but the way we’re going, there may be a second ice out day. Today, 5-7 inches of snow is predicted. Is this wild or what? Last week, we saw a heron on the shore and killdeer scooting around. Wonder what they’re doing today? It was starting to green up last week. Today, it’s like it’s on pause, waiting for the madness to end.

An interesting thing though. We have loons on our bay. Haven’t had them before so it’s quite the treat to hear them calling across the lake. Nothing says the north country than loons. That isn’t the only different type of thing we’ve seen. The other day around dinner time, it was 35 degrees, the water probably not much warmer. Darn, if we didn’t see a ski boat on the water, the water skier in a full wet suit (but bare feet) skiing across the water. Now that takes a bit of courage that is enviable. I thought this post on the cold pretty funny. That about says it.
