09 Oct 2008 My New ZenCart Online Store

I did it.  I set up my own online store.  Unlike what I’ve posted previously, I opted against an Oscommerce store and went to ZenCart.

Why?  I encountered a login problem that was quite vexing.  It turned out to be a PHP problem, yet I was turned off from Oscommerce.  ZenCart worked, so I adopted it.

My store is now ready—after lots of work setting up products, resizing images, writing copy.  I’ve inserted links on my website.  I’ve started the long process of creating related products on Zazzle and RedBubble.  Lots of computer time.  Honestly though, I’ve loved every minute of it.

My whole motivation behind setting up a store was to create static links.  I didn’t want to have to continually be updating previous posts with new links when they changed in ArtByUs or Etsy.  Annoying.  I wanted to take control back over my linking.  Thus, my store.

So far, so good.  I still have lots to do, but I’m well on the way to making my own online presence.
